Aspen Medical Community Support

Aspen Medical is proud to supprt local charities in many of the communities we operate in around Australia and around the world.

Since our establishment Aspen Medical has worked closely with the Special Olympics ACT Region.

Special Olympics (SO) is an international organisation providing year-round sports training and competition to people with an intellectual disability. The program provides athletes with an opportunity to develop physical fitness, participate in the sharing of skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the wider community.

Special Olympics ACT Region (SOACTR) is a branch of Special Olympics Australia. With over 200 members and 10 different sports on offer, the program enables people of all ages to learn, enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports. Aspen Medical Managing Director, Glenn Keys is a board member of SOACTR.

Christmas Charity Donations 2010

The Aspen Medical Team has once again supported a number of charities in the areas of our operations this past hoilday season. In lieu of our staff Christmas cards and gifts a donation of $3,000 each was made to the following charities to assist them in continuing their valuable work:

 

The Balunu Foundation (Balunu) is an Indigenous owned and operated, not for profit, registered charity based in the Northern Territory. Balunu's vision is to break the cycle of Indigenous disadvantage by targeting the youth of this generation and reconnecting them to their true identity, dealing with the underlying issues they face and equipping them with the necessary tools to make strong choices.

Legacy Australia is a voluntary organisation of veterans, servicemen and women and other volunteers who are dedicated to the care of the dependants of Australian Defence Force members, after the death of a spouse or parent during service, and to Australian and Allied families after operational service. Legacy currently care for 115,000 widows and 1900 children and dependants throughout Australia. Aspen Medical’s donation will enable Legacy to provide personal support and caring welfare service to the dependants of Australia’s deceased veterans in the Canberra Region.

Life, Love and Health (LL&H) is a volunteer based, Australian Registered charity committed to community development in Timor-Leste. LL&H grassroots projects assist the Timorese people to address their fundamental needs and aspirations as they move forward through difficult challenges to their independent future.

Solomon Islands Disability Council

 Solomon Islands Disability Council is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the rights and needs of people with disabilities throughout the Solomon Islands. One of the Councils main aims is to promote the welfare and wellbeing of people with disabilities by arranging activities and services to enhance their rehabilitation.
